After lots of procrastination, I finally pulled together everything I needed for Ironman Lake Placid.  After the Tri in the Buff debacle of forgetting to pack a tri top, I decided the best course of action would be to lay everything out on the bed to make sure I didn’t forget anything.  To the right is a picture of everything I packed and here’s the list (from left to right):

1. Blue Seventy Axis Wetsuit –  its borderline whether or not the swim will be wetsuit legal so the trusty Blue Seventy got packed.

2. Project Rudy Sterling Le Fluo Helmet – This is my Pickachu helmet.  I love the yellow and I love the fact that the helmet is super light.  I have an aero helmet but with all the climbing on the Lake Placid course, I figured I was better off with my road helmet.

3. Fuel Belt Race Belt and Pocket – I won’t use a full Fuel Belt for the race but I will still use my fuel belt race belt and the nifty little pocket to hold my gels and shot bloks.  Its also blue and matches my kit!

4. Road ID Wrist ID Elite – I always wear it.  I do too many stupid things to not always have my “call in case of emergency” information on me.

5. Garmin 310 XT and Garmin Edge 500 – My Garmins.  I’ll wear the 310 for the entire race and use the 500 on the bike.  I like having the 500 in addition to the 310 because it makes my data really easy to see on the bike.

6. K Swiss Quickie Blade Lights – My pika pika shoes shoes.   Light and breathable but enough cushioning for a marathon.

7. Sporti Swim Suits (2) – Cute suits.  Don’t want to be swimming in the wetsuit unless I have to.

8. Yoga Rat Towel – Soft and dries quick.  Works well for hot yoga too.

9. Kiwami Amphibian Speed Suit – Hoping that the water temperature is above 76 degrees and I get to race in my Amphibian rather than in my wetsuit.

10. Bont Sub 8 Bike Shoes – I wanted them in yellow, but I settled for black.  Shoes are custom molded and super stiff.

11.  Power Gels, Power Bars and Clif Shot Bloks – Nom nom nom.  Raspberry cream and strawberry banana gels, orange creme power cars and lemon lime and black cherry shot bloks.  Tried and true nutrition.

12. Rudy Project Noyz Sunglasses – They match the helmet.  Enough said.

13. Lululemon shorts & visor – 5 pairs of lululemon speed shorts and my lululemon running visor.

14. QT2 Bike and Tri Short and Tri Tops (2) – I remembered them this time.  I’m a smart girl!

15. Dartmouth T-shirt and P J Pants – I’m not Shaun, I don’t sleep naked.

16. Sports Bras (Oiselle and Lululemon) and Undies – No real bras, just sports bras.  Nothing but t-shirts and shorts this weekend.

17. Long Sleeve Shirts (2) — From the 2010 and 2011 editions of the Boston Marathon.

18. Running socks — Light and low cut.

19. Oiselle Running Tees (5) — Some new, some old, all super comfortable.

20. Books — Need something to do while conserving energy for Sunday.

I’m sure I’m missing something but that’s what the race expo, Price Chopper and Shaun are for.
