Erica and Terenzo Bozzone.

This is Erica* (and Terenzo Bozzone).  While Terenzo has decided to skip Kona this year to allow his achilles to heal, Erica is also taking a break of sorts.  Last weekend, Miss Erica went into pre-term labor (her first pregnancy) and is now on bed rest for the next 9 or so weeks.  Prior to pregnancy, Erica was my running partner.  She let me run whatever pace I was scheduled to run and tagged along faithfully.  It didn’t matter what I was doing, Erica was a good sport and put up with my nonsense.  Now Erica has gone from racing (she went 5:54 at the FIRMman Half last year) to not being able to leave the coach.  So, while I brought Erica cupcakes this past weekend, I figure that feeding her lots of fat and sugar probably isn’t the best way to help through the next several weeks.

Star Wars Sugar Cookies.

So — here’s the challenge — what can I get / do / bring to Miss Erica to help her get through bed rest (other than the Star Wars sugar cookies I’m planning on baking and frosting with care next weekend)?  Any suggestions on books (she loved Kathryn Stockett’s The Help but couldn’t get into Karen Russell’s Swamplandia)?  Movies? Games? Stupid Internet sites?  Good blogs?

Any and all suggestions are welcome.  Hopefully I can help Erica enjoy her last two months of peace and quiet.

* Let’s note that Erica has complained that I don’t update this blog enough, so now she’s gets a double whammy — a new blog post that’s about her!

I think she should start a blog….follow the trend…just think of all the earth shattering info she could share in two months..

Or you could plan your 2012 race season…we can all register for a race…and wait patiently for the email that says sorry I can’t make it – ha

Great to see you girls….lets do it again soon! Maybe florida 🙂

I believe the real game will be an over/under bet on how far in advance Erica emails that she is bailing.

came over to your blog from the miller family.

i hated swamplandia – was one of our book club reads and it was terrible. i liked The Room once i understood the writing style. hm what else – the middle place, the year of fog, cutting for stone, one day, middlesex, belong to me, heart of the matter…
